Good Rising and Excellent Health!

This remedy is perfect for colds, coughs, stuffy noses, & runny noses too! Headache from sinus pressure. Allergy Symptoms relief. It is also great to have on hand before a vocal performance of any kind: singing, voice over work, theatrical, speaking engagement, etc.

  • One Part FRESHLY SQUEEZED Lemon or Lemon/Lime Juice

  • One Part Honey, preferably Natural, RAW Honey

  • Water to Taste

  • FRESHLY Grated, Diced or Sliced Ginger Root. Enough to cover surface

Let Simmer.... Sip all day.

Please Note: this recipe does NOT call for alcohol.....This is the only medicine my daughters really know about besides herbal teas and homeopathy. Ask them, it really works!!! It's really not more than old fashioned ginger brew! If you are feeling bold, add a dash of cayenne pepper! Special Thanks to Christi Tate who told me about this years ago......

Payback Time: Boycott the Organic and 'Natural' Traitor Brands that Helped Kill Prop 37

They stomped on our right to know. Now it's time

to get even.

Prop 37, the California Right to Know GMO labeling initiative, was narrowly defeated last week thanks to a relentless, deceitful $46-million advertising blitz. Among the largest bankrollers of the NO on 37 campaign were huge multinational food and beverage companies whose subsidiaries make billions selling some of your favorite organic and "natural" brands.

Brands like Kashi. Honest Tea. Naked Juice. Muir Glen, Horizon, Silk, and Morningstar Farms.

It's time to boycott the companies and brands whose dirty money confused and scared millions of California voters into voting No on Prop 37. It's time to plaster their facebook pages with this message: We won't support you until you support us. It's time to call their consumer hotlines, complain to the store managers where you buy your organic and natural products. It's time to tarnish their holy organic and natural images, to expose their hypocrisy and greed.

It's time to raise a little hell. If we raise enough hell, maybe their parent companies will come to their senses and stop carrying the water for Monsanto and the biotech industry. Maybe they'll stay neutral in the upcoming labeling battles in Washington state and Vermont.

The OCA is calling on consumers to boycott these organic and "natural" traitor brands:

  • PepsiCo (Donated $2.5M): Naked Juice, Tostito’s Organic, Tropicana Organic
  • Kraft (Donated $2M): Boca Burgers and Back to Nature
  • Safeway (Member of Grocery Manufacturers Association, which donated $2M):“O” Organics
  • Coca-Cola (Donated $1.7M): Honest Tea, Odwalla
  • General Mills (Donated $1.2M): Muir Glen, Cascadian Farm, Larabar
  • Con-Agra (Donated $1.2M): Orville Redenbacher’s Organic, Hunt’s Organic, Lightlife, Alexia
  • Kellogg’s (Donated $791k): Kashi, Bear Naked, Morningstar Farms, Gardenburger
  • Smucker’s (Donated $555k ): R.W. Knudsen, Santa Cruz Organic
  • Unilever (Donated $467k): Ben & Jerry’s
  • Dean Foods (Donated $254k): Horizon, Silk, White Wave

  • Tell these companies that if they want your loyalty - and your grocery dollars - they must do two things:

    1. Speak out publicly in favor of the pending GMO Labeling Ballot Initiative (I-522) in Washington State in 2013, as well as the pending GMO labeling bills coming up in Vermont and other states.

    2. Contribute as much or more money to the Yes on I-522 Campaign in Washington than their parent corporations spent to defeat Prop 37 in California. in Washington State, talking to legislators in Vermont and Connecticut. A 30-state coalition is formulating a plan to collaborate on GMO-labeling laws and initiatives.

You are a part of this movement, and today we're calling on you, on the millions of consumers who were outraged by the NO on 37's dirty campaign, to send a clear message to the traitor brands who helped kill Prop 37, in the only language they understand: lost profits and lower sales.

    Join the boycott

YES! I RAN THE RACE ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 11, 2012!!!!!

    Before the Race

    Stretching....

    Waiting....

It was AMAZING!! Up and over Mt. Tamalpais, TWICE!!! I read about the course before the event, but it didn't really dawn on me until I was there!

    TRAIL MAP

HERE ARE SOME COMMENTS ABUT THE TRAIL THAT I READ BEFORE THE RACE, BUT HAD NO IDEA!!!

"The course is ~98% dirt single-track trail with some rocky, technical sections. The climb up Steep Ravine has a 12' "ladder" you will have to climb... the descent on Dipsea back to Stinson Beach has a good number of steps. I recommend trail shoes for this one!"

" It'll be a hilly one... About 7,000' of pain... I mean gain." NO KIDDING!!!
Elevation Map: I ran the half marathon, "only" 3200' gain....

It was more of a very fast hike then running. Seemed like HUNDREDS of steps. Once I got onto the flat trail however, I felt so much in the zone. Running through the forests like that, I could not help but to imagine what it was like to be a Native back then, when we we were still at war with the US. And if they saw a Black Woman running like that for sure they would have tried to stop me just because it looked suspicious! Yes, these were a few of the thoughts running thru my mind as I was running thru the woods.....

All was fine until mile number 12, when my knee gave out. My knee was in excruciating pain at the top of the mountain; I was so relieved to see it was time to start declining. Boy was I wrong! It hurt even MORE to walk down, ket alone RUN down those steps!!! I was thinking, "I will NEVER do this again!" Then when it was flat again, the folks running 50K were coming back around. They were telling me, "Looking Good", "Great Job!" All kinds of encouragement. After a while, the pain in my knee was no longer the priority! I wanted to FINISH!!!!! By the time I crossed the finish line, I was already planning my strategy for NEXT YEAR!!! LOL!!! Imagine my surprise and exhilaration when I learned that I CAME IN THIRD PLACE IN MY CATEGORY!!! I TIMED IN AT 4:20:46!!! FOUR TWENTY!!! And, I got a medal and a t-shirt!!!

TAKE THAT, IMMACULATA HIGH SCHOOL COACHES AND OBERLIN COLLEGE COACHES WHO TOLD ME THAT BLACK GIRLS RUN SHORT DISTANCES AND WHITE GIRLS RUN LONG DISTANCES!!!! I RAN 14 MILES, UP AND OVER A MOUNTAIN, TWO TIMES!

    Across the Line!

    Limping Across the Line

    With Pauline

    Results for My Category

    Lucky Number (13 in numerology!)

Overall winner of my race, half marathon, 14 miles:
    1 Mike Lopez Mill Valley CA 434 55 M 1 50-59 1:48:21
    Female winner in my category:
    44 Kellie McNerney SF CA 437 59 F 1 50-59 3:20:42
    Female winner overall:
    5 Jennifer Mygatt Williamstown MA 441 31 F 1 30-39 2:14:12

Anyway, next time, I will take better precautions with my knee, like not running the block or so on concrete before hitting the actual trail. That would have cut at least one hour off of my time....Fifteen years ago, I made a promise to the Universe that if I was allowed to keep running, I would never run on concrete....

Special Thanks and Gratitude to Sabryyah for the photos, and getting me to the race on time. Special Thanks to Devorah, who gave me a ride to Hopland so that Ali could pick me up and get me to Sabryyah! Yes, My ride to the race backed out two days prior. I was determined to get there, even if I had to hitchhike. It was like a relay race getting to Stinson Beach! Of copurse, I left the directions at home, and my cell phone had no reception, so we almost got lost once we got to the state park! It was quite a morning.....Needless to say, I slept for two days after the race. Very Special Thanks to Round Valley Indian Health Center for getting me started with the Triathlon Summer 2012, and to Melanie for hooking me up with a pedometer.

So this may well be the final episode of my training with PeTAPACK and RAISING $421 for PeTA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals),however, I am just getting started. I plan to train and raise funds for organizations every year, maybe twice a year. It might not always be for PeTA, however, it WILL always be about MAAT IN ACTION: RUNNING FOR WORLD PEACE!!!!!

Here are the last training videos that I did not get to post until now.....

This is the first day where I felt a little bit discouraged. First of all, my fundraising efforts have been inconsistent, and therefore, so is my progress. Second, I got a late start, so it was already kinda hot when I began the run. Third, my pedometer broke. I downloaded an app on my android, but when phone went to sleep. so did the pedometer. It said that today, I ran about 3/4 mile. HA!!! To make matters worse, my sweet dog Sybil, chased & caught a RABBIT!!!! THE PETA MASCOT!! It was very disturbing. I thought she would chase and never catch it. I suppose I could have said, "LEAVE IT!!" Not sure if she would have heard me. How do I know she caught it? I heard the bunny crying. Then when Sybil returned, she had blood on her face. I feel awful. NO PHOTOS TODAY....Nevertheless, this has been the worse training day since I began. As it was not soooooo bad, all in all, I feel pretty terrific! My entire body is sore, but my knees are still good. UGH. Peace.

Gotta thank my brother Ed Hambric for this one. He told me to watch THRIVE. What is so fascinating to me is the shape of the Torus. I have been doing a meditation where the energy comes up thru the root chakra, then exits thru crown chakra for a while now. However it was just enough for my own being. Like this.

After seeing the torus energy flow, I have extended the field so that it reaches out farther, so that I can share energy with another without depleting my own energy. It is a protective shield that allows for generous sharing. Since I have been doing this meditation, I have more energy, am more assertive, less timid and more courageous in speaking up for myself, in a very Maat like manner..... Standing in My Truth. Remaining Seated on My Inner Throne and CANNOT Be Moved!

Torus Energy video clip from movie.

Some More Images to help you get the idea.

Here is the Movie THRIVE in its entirety by the way.

Interesting how Taurus and Torus sound similar? Ancient languages had no vowels, so these words are definitely related...

As for increased energy. I have also been taking Mana Wai Blue Spirulina with coconut water....my energy is off the charts!

I feel that the combination of this Blue Spirulina with the Torus Energy Meditation are responsible for my heightened energy levels these days.....

I used to do a meditation for abundance, where I visualized how we exchange energy with the trees, then cut them down to print paper money. I saw how we can get the energy and things we need to live on Earth from the Trees and vice versa. This Torus meditation takes this a to a whole new level.....

Well, well, well! During this episode, we experience the SIX MILE RUN!!!! The first four miles are video documented. After that, there appears to have been a camera malfunction, so the victory dance was not captured. When the time comes for the EIGHT MILE RUN (say WHA???) I am sure the victory dance will be incredible, and that it will certainly be recorded.

Do you recall in episode five, where the doggie backpack mysteriously appears in one of my closets??? Well. the following week, I was cleanng out another closet, and FOUND A SECOND DOGGIE BACKPACK, THIS ONE SLIGHTLY BIGGER....okay, so what is really going on here? I have no idea, but if other things that I need start appearing in my closet, I won't complain.....

    Some more smokey shots.

The fire is now under control. They say however that it will keep burning until the first rain. No orders for a rain dance yet. I remain on call!

Here are some photos of the "darling flowers" I run into when jogging around the airport.....Star Thistle. OUCH!!

And now for the video clips! Actually, I was able to string them all together into a little movie!

Hey! After running five miles, I start to feel like I can do anything! That is, until something happens that I have no control over......

LIKE A WASP STING!!!!! This incident has nothing whatsoever to do with the training..... Yes, on thiss day, I was just picking blackberries! I will let the pictures do the explaining.

I learned alot about wasps. I thought I was just getting stung. Turns out int was an initiation into order & feminine power:

Wasps in Totem Spirit Lodge Library Forum
    Animal Symbolism of the Wasp

Wasps make paper. Their structures are built with knowledge of sacred geometry. The female has the stinger, many species have one near the tummy. In fact, it is their female sex organ, meant for laying eggs! They can sting multiple times, unlike the bee that stings once and then dies. I have to admit, that my house needs lots more order, and that I have been procrastinating on a few good projects. I will let you know how things turn out....

This is what I think I walked into....

Anyway, the five mile run was wonderful. Here is a little video clip....

Dim lights Here is Geronimo chilling after the run....

Yes, the fires are still raging, and I am still running!!!

Okay, so as you can see, that was quite a day! Now, for a few words about why I am doing this:

With more than 3 million members and supporters, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the fashion industry, and in the entertainment industry. We also work to prevent a variety of other abuses, including the cruel killing of beavers, birds, and other "pests" and cruelty toward backyard dogs. PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue efforts, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns. You can find out more about PETA on our Web site PETA.org.

Although PETA does work in all these areas, all funds raised by the 2012 PETA Pack team will go directly to our Investigations & Rescue Fund. That means your money can provide a sturdy doghouse to a neglected backyard dog who has no shelter, help rescue an animal from a cruelty situation, support our undercover investigators who are working to expose cruel conditions behind closed doors, and much more!

The PETA Pack team spends three months each year training and sweating and fundraising and laughing and cheering for the group that is the world's most powerful voice for animals: PETA. Join us today! You can make your donation to petapack right here..

This episode begins with a funny story! I have been meaning to get one of those backpacks for dogs. I read at the Dog Whisperer site that it gives the dog a job or a task. Another benefit: it is like weight training for them and tires them out even more. Well, I have been meaning to get one for my pack. BTW, yesterday was their two year birthday! That is ANOTHER story!!! LOL!

Back to the back pack...So, I'm trying to fit it into my budget: the Cesar Milano pack is like $70 with shipping and all. The other day, I was cleaning out a closet that has not really been opened for three years. What do I find in there???? A DOGGIE BACKPACK! NOW, I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS THING BEFORE IN MY HOUSE. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT GOT INTO MY CLOSET OR EVEN HOW LONG IT HAS BEEN THERE. Needless to say, Ilu is ROCKING this back pack!!!!

    This was Thursday August 23.

This was another 4 mile run. Felt GREAT! The firefighters are always worried about me being out in the heat. Frankly, I don't see how people can just stay indoors!

Friday August 24: X-Training with Sybil. This photo is from the Fit Trail at the Round Valley Indian Health Center. Remember when I first started training, and I wiped out due to cell phone complication? Well I also hurt my wrist. This next photo is after I managed to swing myself across using the so called monkey bars. I was amazed because I was able to do with weak wrist!

Sunday August 26 I ran FIVE MILES!!! Whoo Hoo!! How did I do that? Especially with all the firemen and road crews out there!!! How will I run six miles next Sunday? How willI run THIRTEEN POINT ONE MILES IN NOVEMBER??? Stay Tuned!!

The tip the packleader had about running on balls of feet has made an amazing difference. I have forgotten that I had a knee problem. That mostly came from running on concrete or cement, which I do not dd anymore. But sometimes, it flares up...

    Dim lights

THANKS PeTAPACK for getting me out there and pushing myself beyond my comfort zone!!! AND for putting this together so that we can take action for world peace. I used to think these walk/races for fundraising were bogus. However, IT FEELS GREAT!!

After last weeks' run of 4 miles, I have been rather impressed with my self! With all the fire blazing around the Valley, folks have been worried about me training. I have not felt any bother from the smoke. The petapack mentors told me that the smoke would not intefere with my workout.

I have been pretty busy, and missed a few posts. However, I have been training with consistency. I still cannot believe that I ran 5 miles on Sunday!! So, here are some photos from the past week or so, including today!

Here is the Training Schedule:. Yep. on Sunday, I am running SIX MILES!!! In back of my mind is coach from college days: Black Gilrs run short distances.....

What is really healing for me about this is the fact that each day, no matter how tired I am, I am still able to complete my chores and get this training done. I have been using this great product: MANA WAI BLUE SPIRULINA mixed with coconut water. maybe that is it!!! LOL!! KOSMIC BLUE SPIRULINA

    ANYHOO, on to the photo!!!
August 17. Marcus Garvey's Birthday. Cross Training Day.

I went to the Fit Trail at the Round Valley Indian Health Center. I like to come here/go there. First of all, IT FEELS WONDERFUL TO BE OUT OF THE US, EVEN IF IT IS ON AN INDIAN RESERVATION. PERIOD!!! Second, there are delicious apple trees and blackberries along the trail. Third, it is quite a workout. I can go around once now. Next month, I will work towards going around two times.....

August 18 was the BlackBerry festival, which was healing. Day of rest for training, but without a car, I must have put in a few miles hauling my keyboards on a dolly/ from my house to the fairgrounds!

Sunday August 19, I ran 4 miles.... already posted that photo...just catching up....

Tuesday August 21 was very hot. Got out late for the morning. Lots of fire and smoke. This is a funny picture!

had just finished running....this one is nicer...

Today went really well! I completed the long run of four mies. I have never run 4 miles before. I thought my knee would give out. BUT IT DIDN'T!!!! I was also concerned because the fires are raging in Northern cali right now, and the skies are filled with smoke. However, the smoke did not stop me in any way. The only bad part is the little flowers with spikes: they hurt!!!!

Here is a photo of yours truly, at the location I ran 4 miles. I thought I was smiling!! Today I ran with Geronimo. he is great for long distances. I like to take Sybil to the River, because she won't run off. Geronimo will run off, and he WILL come back. With their mama, Ilu, you never know WHEN she will come back!!!!

Well, well, well. Yesterday I ran three miles. It was actually not even difficult. Two days befoee that, I went swimming and hiking at the river. I actually swam 8 laps across the swimming hole at the Falls! AMAZING!! Today/s workout however, left me kinda tired. Glad tomorrow is a rest day. Today I walked thru one of those fit-trails. It is located at the Round Valley Indian Health Center. After the triathlon, we were given a tour of the facility. At that time, I had no idea I would be training for a half marathon for peta! Anyway, after the workout, I am sore and actually tired. After running, I don't usually feel tired. It must be because it was my first time going thru the circuit. So far, the training is the easy part. Getting folks to donate to PeTA is the real challenge! So. I have decided to start doing some research & writing about the treatment of animals. Perhaps a new song will come out of this!

This is a video clip that I really like. Very inspiring about training. This guy started at 40. I am staring at 51, not bad!

And this is from second day or running two miles. It is so funny, because I saw some road maintenance guys standing by the road. I asked them if they would shoot video of me ending my run for the day. One of them said "Sure, if you let us use your cell phone. Our truck died!" So, as I got closer, I realized that I KNEW one of them! In fact, my daughter used to date his brother!!! Anyway, this is me running towards the bike after a run, with my trusty companion, Sybil.

    Good Rising. Great Running!

I have decided to take action towards world peace, in addition to all the other things I am already doing. With this action, I hope
    to accomplish many things, including:
    • better health for my self
    • better health for my dogs
    • pushing myself beyond my comfort zone
    • raising awareness about cruelty to animals
    • raising awareness about vegetarian lifestyle; in my opinion, mistreating, killing and eating animals contributes to worldwide violence and disease amongst human beings.
    • setting a better example for the youth of today, the men & women of tomorrow
thereby establishing that world peace can begin with vegetarian diet and proper treatment of animals, with kindness,
compassion and respect for all life.

So, I have started training for a 13.1 mile mini marathon. My dogs are my training partners. I ride my bike to the course location, then run. Sometimes I swim as well. Planning on running a course somewhere in Round Valley, where I currently reside. In addition to running, I am also raising money for PeTA: People for the Ethical Teatment of Animals.

Here is my petapack page where you can make a contribution on my behalf:

This is where I will be posting about the training. The blog here at tchiya.com will continue even after the race on
November 11, because I think that I will just keep on running for world peace!!!

On Day 2, I tried to reach for my cell phone while holding leash with running dog in other hand, while riding my bike! OUCH! Talk about painful multitasking!

And here is a video of me running towards my bike...

    well, it's still at youtube....

How did this all come about? Well, I have been saying for years that when I hit my 50's I would start training for triathlons.
And even run in races. One day last month, I saw a flyer about a triathlon right here in Round Valley. This event was sponsored by Round Valley Indian Health Center. I entered, I ran and
I got second place. There were only three people in the race, but that is beside the point! LOL!!! I LOVED the feeling!
    I am hooked.....
Here are some photos from that great day!

    Udja! Greetings!

So grateful to announce a new line of Flower Essence Oils brought to you by AstMaataJi Temple of Divine Light, Healing and Sweet Sounds.

You might be wondering, how is this any different from Flower Essential Oils, Flower Essences or Flower Remedies? The difference is that no chemicals or any artificial substances are used to produce these wonderful essences. No alcohol or any other kind of solvents are used. These are NOT produced by leaving the flowers in a container of water for a few hours or any other length of time. These flower essences are produced using ancient techniques with modern equipment. They are made simply by pressing tons of beautiful flowers! That is all! Then fancy perfume, cologne, and aftershave corporations buy the essences, add gallons of alcohol and preservatives, get some fancy bottles, and charge hundreds, if not thousands of dollars for them. They smell so unnatural and artificial, I know we Naturalists can do better! That is a play on words, because the word nature derives from the term NTR, Neter, Neteru, etc....

So, instead of chemicals, we blend the flower essences with pure, natural and/or organic oils that are so beneficial for us. Currently in stock, we have Jojoba Oil, Camelia Oil, which is excellent for hair, and oh so sweet Apricot Oil. Will soon be working with Hemp Oil, Hazelnut Oil, Coconut and Shea Butters.

Here is a video from someone's visit to the very same shop we visited this summer in Cairo! "How Perfume is made/Travels with Sheila": An Interesting Perfume Showroom in Cairo, Egypt Our guide's name was David.

What I have available today are some blends that were poured with the energy of the FULL MOON ECLIPSE 12-11-11. These will remain pure for up to one year as is, until the Full Moon in December 2012. Or, you can add vit.e oil, or keep them refrigerated to extend shelf life. Whatcha waitin for? USE THEM OFTEN!!!
