It's nothing new, only true!

BlogPost - New Zodiac sign dates: Don't switch horoscopes yet Washington Post!
Soooooo, the mainstream has finally accepted the truth about the Zodiac of contemporary Western Astrology. Of course, some of us have known about this for decades. Others, for centuries. or even longer! If you have been following this website or getting emails, this is nothing new to you. There is really nothing new under the sun anyway! The chart above was generated a few years ago from earlier data. I think that the MInnesota astronomers have calculations that differ from this by one day in some cases. Or, it has also been stated that the difference lies in the cusp dates....

That makes sense, since time moves forward one day every 70 years or so due to the precession of the Equinox. Some of them want to ignore Ophichus altogether. The attitude seems to be, "Well yes, this is the truth, but the system we have been using for centuries still works. Why change it now?" This statement could be describing many false institutions, like slavery for instance!
When I first figured out that something was amiss, it was back in 1997 or was it '98, the year of that amazing planetary alignment. I was so angry, so disullusioned. There was so much deception and conspiracy theories being uncovered before my eyes, and way too much patriarchy, especilly in the Reggae and Rastafarian scene, of which I was very much involved with at that time. I would go out to look at the stars, and saw that the Moon was in Gemini. When I looked at the ephemeris, it said somehting different. I observed this phenomenon far too often. By the time the alignment hit, I had had enough. On top of that, the Hebrew calendar, which was supposedly a Lunar calendar, turned out to be an Equinoctal calendar, so that the Holy Days would always fall during the 'right " time of the year. This meant that some years had 13 moons, but some had 12 or even 14. Remember the year that Easter came one month before Passover? That kinda thing. Anyway, once I saw these discrepancies, and this was before google, so not many folks around me were aware of this, I went into the bathroom and cut off my dreads. That's right, I was DONE with the movement, because all I saw were lies and oppression. So, yes, this is my second set of locks....
Notice how the signs are not evenly spaced. This has to do with the actual size of the constellation, not from simly dividng the orbit oif the earth around the Sun into 12 equal segments. Scorpio is only 7 days long. Virgo is 45 days long.
Every Indigenous calendar that I am aware of has 13 months, or 13 moons. Only the Western system ignores this fact. If there are 13 moons on a year, then there must be 13 suns in a year.
Yeah, so, what does this mean? If you listen to astrologers, they will tell you that this doesn't make a difference, that Babylon astrology works. Well of course it works, because people believe it to be true. How can something that works, but based on a lie be valid? Well, because so many people believe it, we make it true. As I have stated many times before, I would rather have a system that is based on the truth. Those that want to protect the status quo will tell you that it doesn't matter. People that actually observe the stars will tell you different. In the distant past, there was no seperation between astrology and astronomy. When the "authorities" stepped in, they wanted to control the masses, so they set up an artificial system of keeping time. Babylonian. or Western astrology is based upon the orbit of the earth around the Sun. This orbit was divided into 12 equal sections that were each named after a constellation, but in reality, have nothing at all to do with the stars. isn't it funny how they insist on calling it astrology, which means study of the stars???? It needs to be referred to as Solarology, or Sology because it deals with the movement around the Sun, which is Our star, not the stars of the celestial realm. The Sidereal System, which is based upon the motionof the Sun and planets across the constellations, is the true Zodiac. It is also a galactic based system. If you recall, we have been in the galactic underworld for many years now. The awareness of this zodiac sign, Ophiuchus, comes right near the beginning of the final underworld, the Universal Underworld, as if to have a last hurrah before our beloved Milky Way Galaxy fades from the limelight...
My position on this during the past 20 years that I have been studying this topic, has ranged from
1) All astrology as we know it is a lie. We must start over and learn this new system, once it is established and developed that is. Once, I thought I was a mighty warrior lioness, and now I am a crab: stay at home type of person.
2) How can the Babylonian astrology system work if it is based on a lie? Why does it still apply?
Now, I am somewhere more in the middle of two extremes:
3) The Babylonian syatem applies to how we move about the face of the earth. it describes us during our youth. The True system applies to our destiny and our purpose. It describes who we are to become, and who we are as we mature.... So you see, it is not about just being one energy and not the other. It is about evolution.
As Ophiuchus is symbolized by a human grappling with a snake while stamping on the back of scorpion, it can be said that the awareness of Ophiuchus symbolizes a time when humanity gets a grip on sublimating the lower nature, or even ego, symbolized by the scorpion, or Scorpio. The awareness of Ophiuchus by the masses symbolizes our awareness of the truth. It symboiizes the evolution of our consciousness, which is what this period of life on Earth is all about....Time is an illusion, but timing is everything! LOL!!!

Sidereal Astrology: The Tropical and Sidereal Zodiaks
& Earth's Precessional Holy Cross
Learn about Earth's Precession; the relationship between the tropical and sidereal zodiacs; the astrological ages, the intercession of Earth's Precessional Holy Cross; measurement of the precessional rate, and introducing the Galactic Ayanamsa: Reckoning of the sidereal zodiak to the galactic axis of Earth's Precessional Holy Cross is based upon the spherical geometry created by Earth's precessional orientation in the solar system and our solar system's current location and orientation in the galaxy), rather than merely on star locations as seen from Earth.
The Sidereal Heavens Star Map: Under the Stars
Getting to know the heavens: This is a sky map of the heavens that shows the stars, constellations, and the sidereal signs. Visually learn how the stars and constellations interrelate and blend to create each sidereal sign. This is a wonderful tool for the novice or seasoned sidereal astrologer, for the astronomer, for the casual sky watcher, or simply for those wishing to know more of the Greater Heavens under which we live. The Sky Chart is also a wonderful reference for the material presented in each month's Lunar Planner.
wow, I have been waiting for this for years:
The Star Catalog

The Star Catalog has 2 parts: It is a step-by-step instruction manual teaching how to create a Sidereal Astrology Chart, complete with fixed stars and deep-space objects.
The Star Catalog also lists the sidereal longitudes and latitudes of over 600 stars and deep-space objects in a unique format making it easy for the astrologer to add stars to any astrology chart .

Lyn Dalebout explains Sidereal Astrology very well...
http://www.earthwordskyword.com/astrology.html
"Our solar system is moving one degree every approximately seventy-two years into the previous constellation in an event called the precession of the equinoxes. The sidereal zodiac incorporates the reality of where the planets in our local solar system literally align with the stars in the greater Universe in the present moment. Thus it is a galactic-based astrology. The sidereal astrological chart, therefore, articulates a more expanded sense of Self, and perhaps of universal purpose. You might call this your Higher Self, your Source, your Divine Mystery. A sidereal reading is a reflection of that larger, more awakened Self.
The tropical zodiac is based on the relationship of the Sun to the Earth, and delineates a chart based on the seasonal cycles of our Earth and not on the literal present day alignments with the actual constellations. It begins with the spring equinox, usually March 21, as being the first degree of Aries, and everything unfolds from that point. It is my theory that the tropical chart has helpful information about family patterns, even karmic conditioning that you are working through in the early years of your life. It is helpful in understanding your history, your inherited patterns, even your past lives. But as you age (and hopefully keep discovering and uncovering your true nature) and are freed up from those old stories, the tropical chart becomes less valuable as a tool of understanding
who you are NOW as you actively, continually create your new story, your ever-expanding YOU."
"Astronomology is the practice of astrology using astronomy to build the chart and supply new insights."
John Lamb Lasah has a book called "Quest for the Zodiac" that really breaks it down.... The works of this author is how I first became aware of Sidereal Astrology. He had an article in an astronomy magazine decades ago....
Metahistory.org is his website.
A long-lost, star-based zodiac opens doors to a new, transpersonal astrology.
"Unsuspected by the world at large, astrology uses a model that ignores the stars. Many who practice it do not know that there is a lost, star-based zodiac, entirely distinct from the well-known circle of twelve sun signs. Quest for the Zodiac corrects this error and recovers the visible star patterns observed in ancient times. The distinction between sign stereotypes and the real sky constellations is astounding and revolutionary.
The mythic images of the constellations, not the signs, present a new approach to the age-old question: What is destiny? In the code language of the constellations, myths and archetypal themes reflect the long-term experience of humanity. In the author’s formulation, the star zodiac is a visionary tool for detecting the way each individual can advance on the learning curve of the human species. In effect, we each have a second horoscope, but its message is transpersonal, not ego-centered. Sun-sign astrology examines and elucidates personality, but with the star zodiac we discover the innate genius of the person. Quest for the Zodiac breaks the 2000-year-old monopoly astrology holds on the interactivity of psyche and cosmos. This is the future of astrology, and the astrology of the future."
So, what about Ophiuchus?

Oh, you mean IMHOTEP?

The Sepent Bearer. Symbolized by a man holding a snake between his legs while he steps on the back of the scorpion. This is said to symbolize humanity coming into higher consciousness, and controlling our lower nature. This sign is associated with the Healer. The Caduceus is associated with this sign, as is Imhotep. One of my favorite things about Ophiuchus is that when you are looking at Ophichus, you are looking towards the VERY CENTER OF OUR MILKY WAY GALAXY!!!
I often wondered what would be accepted as the symbol for Ophichus. I like this one alot!

So, the symbol in this artwork is a true cross..... this artwork shows all 13 signs of the Zodiac. From a discussion on:
Earth Changes and the Pole Shift
Information and discussion about the Earth Changes and the pending Pole Shift. posted Jan. 17, 2011
from Ophichus the 13th Astrological sign
"The constellation of Ophiuchus is the only sign of the Zodiac which is linked to a real man. This man lived in ancient Egypt around the 27th century BCE, and his name was Imhotep [again patterned after Enki]. Many of the same attributes of Imhotep can also be found in the Biblical Hebrew man Joseph, son of Jacob - [see comparison chart for these two men in separate article]. Imhotep is credited with many accomplishments including the knowledge and use of medicine. It is said of Imhotep that he brought the art of healing to mankind. The symbol of a serpent [or snake], which is still widely used today to represent the medical profession, was used to represent Imhotep. Imhotep was also known as 'Aesclepius' to the ancient Greeks, but by any name the attributes are still all the same. The attributes listed below describe the Serpent Holder, Imhotep, i.e. the Hebrew Joseph, and Aesclepius. The keyword descriptions seen below, originated with Betty Rhodes, and are the attributes for the 13th sign of the Zodiac - Ophiuchus:
here are a few:
- interpreter of dreams, vivid premonitions,
- attracts good luck and fruitful blessings,
- serpent holder, lofty ideals,
- a seeker of peace and harmony,
- doctor of medicine or science, natural-pathic,
- adds, increases, joins, or gathers together
- poetical, inventive nature, expanding qualities,
- seeks higher education and wisdom,
- overseer, supervisor of work,
- fame - either grand, or completely misunderstood,
- longevity, aspirations of healing the ills of man,
- architect, builder, reaches for the stars, figuratively and literally,"
I will let you go check the rest out for yourself. My rising sign is supposed to be Sagittarius. Now, it looks like Ophiuchus Rising is my true signature....
