Covid changed lives in ways that we are still unpacking. Live Music has certainly changed. Not one to give up, we are back with another approach to sharing this music with the world. Instead of relying on alcohol sales, in environments (clubs, bars, festivals, etc) that are no longer safe for women, we are looking to the Community for support to pay the musicians that accompany the artist. WHAT ABOUT THE MUSIC!
Well, people stopped purchasing cds several years ago, however, there appears to be a movement to eliminate streaming and return to artists selling their own music, like in the good ole days. I still have many cds in my garage, and I am about to pull them out. The best way to support this artist is through bandcamp: you can purchase each track rather than streaming. You can even purchase ALL of my music there. Soon, you will be able to purchase albums on a flash drive, so stay tuned for that. Later this year, I will finally be releasing 3 or 4 albums/eps of Kemetic Devotion and Kemetic Reggae. Then I will begin to explore the world of healing frequency music. Reggae fans need not worry: Reggae was there at the beginning of my journey and will always reign supreme because it contains a rhythm (Nyabinghi) with the purpose of eliminating all forms of oppression. It stands for Justice, Truth, Liberation, Ital Living. It represents everything that I am: RISE AGAIN TRUTH. To the artist, Reggae Stands for Maat (goddess of Balance, Truth, Order, Harmony, Justice, Reciprocity and Righteousness). Did you know that Rastau is the Kemetic word for the Road to Enlightenment? The path that leads to the Door? This is what Reggae and Rastafari mean to me and I will never forget this aspect of my journey. The Roots, the Knowledge, the People, The LOVE, the Music.
