This is actually the True SIDEREAL New Year. There are so many new years, but this is the one that is based on when the Sun is in Sidereal Aries, and the Moon moves into Sidereal Aries as well.

In the Vedic Tradition, this happened last week, on April 12. The reason for this difference is that they do not acknowledge the presence of Imhotep (Ophiuchus) in their Zodiac System I still find their descriptions very useful, and call on this tradition from time to time.

The Spring Equinox occurs while we are still in Sidereal Pisces. It has nothing to do with the Moon. Soon, it will occur during the month of Sidereal Aquarius! It is simply when the Galactic and Planetary Axises line up. It will ALWAYS occur on March 19-21 and in the Fall, September 19-21, regardless of which constellation the Sun and Moon are enjoying at that moment.

Ra also moves into Set on this day! According to NASA, the Sun was still in Pisces on April 12. And moves into Aries on the 19th at 6:43 am pdt. That is what makes this day EXTRA POWERFUL!!!!

Ra will be with Set until May 15.

Ra Set reminds me of all the troubles that Ra had to deal with when Set was battling Heru for the throne. Just the way we battle with our higher self, or fight our Ego, or just doubt. And, also, of how much can be accomplished when we are able to keep our Ego, our mind, our thoughts, in alignment with Maat, with a higher and greater purpose. This means incredible energy to great use, by remaining steadfast in our convictions, and focused on our goals. Like an arrow destined for the target. With Sesheta also in this position, we have the opportunity to align our personality in this same direction.
