Wisdom Teachings

“O my mother Nut, spread yourself over me, so that I may be placed among the imperishable stars and may never die…that my name might remain enduring in this temple forever and ever.

Utterance 432 – the Pyramid Texts (written circa 2500 BCE):

O Great One who became Sky,
You are Strong, you are Mighty.
Every place is filled with Your Beauty.
The whole world lies beneath you. You possess it!
As you enfold the whole Earth and all things in Your arms, enfold me too.
Make me an Indestructible Star in your Body.

“I am Nut, and I have come so that I may enfold and protect you from all things evil.”

According to the Ancient Egyptian calendar, February 1st (Rekh Neds 18) is a Very Favorable Day as “It is the feast of Nut, who counts the days.

Oh my Mother Nut, stretch your wings over me.
Let me become like the imperishable stars,
like the indefatigable stars.
May Nut extend her arms over me
and her name of
   “She who extends her arms”
   chases away the shadows
and makes the light shine everywhere.
O Great Being who is in the world of the Dead,
At whose feet is Eternity,
in whose hand is the always,
Come to me, O great divine beloved Soul,
who is in the mysterious abyss,
Come to me.
Ancient Egyptian prayer

Tjef Neteru Sema Paut:
“I Am the Cosmic Mother of Asar, I Am Your Mother. I Am the Night Sky and Outer Space. My Body is made up of stars which are my children who I invited to be with me at the time of their death. I Comfort and watch over you always. At the end of your journey on Earth, I invite you to experience the comfort of the bosom of vastness.”

Notes taken  from Egyptian Yoga Vol. 2 by Dr. Muata Ashby excerpts shared on July 16, 2020 for the Birth of Set
In the Neterian Tradition, there is no Devil
We have a different understanding of what is evil

Adversity arises from unrighteousness
Unrighteous actions come from Set

Egoism comes from identifying with body and mind as who one is
Without deeper awareness of connection to All that Is

When Ego is controlled by the Higher Nature it fights forces of entropy
When beset with ignorance it leads to degraded states of humanity

Notes taken from Pg 89 PMH by Dr. Muata Ashby
Fetters of the mind prevent the Soul from attaining Nehast
Set is the enemy of the aspirant, until he can be tamed, controlled and sublimated at last

The mastered ego becomes the servant to the Higher Self
And protects Creation from Chaos of Apep

Ancient African Adorations: ONLINE CONCERTS 2020!

The evolution and spiritual awakening of Tchiya Amet is reflected in her Music. The most recent development has been a spiritual reconnection to Kemet, the remembrance of Her Divinity and relationship with the Higher Self. This Music has become a vehicle to carry her and all who listen onwards, to Nehast, Enlightenment, the Great Spiritual Awakening. Hotep!

Kemetic String Instruments

Perhaps you recall that my Great Grandmother played the Harp, Cello and Piano on a Mississippi River Boat back in the day. As in the late 1800’s. Anabelle Spurlock Gray. One day my grandmother came to visit us in Austin, and while she was there, we had Band Practice. This was in the 90’s. She had no idea that I had become a Reggae Artist! This is when she first told me about her Mother. I had no idea that one of my Maternal Ancestors was a touring musician. That I was following in her footsteps. And now, my daughter is blazing her own musical trail.

Anabelle Spurlock Gray

In 2014, my Spiritual Preceptors, Sebai Maa (Dr. Muata Ashby) and Seba Dja (Dr. Karen Ashby) gifted me with a Ugandan Harp, called an Agundu. At first, I had. no idea what to do. Before long, I was writing songs and recording them. I even travelled to Egypt with that harp. I loved it so much because it had 9 strings for 9 Planets! LOL!! However, on the day of the first Kemetic Music Concert in Chicago. it broke into pieces. It had not been tuning at all for several days, but I thought it would last just one more day. Alas, it did not. I posted the photos, and soon thereafter, an artist named Louis Afrifa reached out to me on facebook. He informed me that although he did not have the Agundu, he made other Kemetic String Instruments that originated in Ghana. I chose the Njarke, the African Cello, and the Seprewa, the Ghanaian Harp. Mr. Afrifa is going to learn how to make an Agundu and make one for me.

The Instruments arrived in time for the Concert. Here are some photos and video clip of their arrival and unveiling.

This is so wonderful because I now have a new friend in Ghana, and perhaps one day, we will play music together on these wonderful instruments. It was/is so exciting to do business with someone there in Africa. And these instruments have me smiling so much these days. I am looking forward to the Concert on Sunday May 19. Rumor has it that I will be playing a few songs with these new instrument. We shall see….

What exactly am I seeking? I don’t really know yet, but when I find it, surely, a song will follow….

Here are a few things I found at a website on history of music theory

The Ancient Egyptians believed that understanding music was the key to understanding the cosmos. The idea of opposites pervaded all aspects of Egyptian knowledge and the understanding and perception of harmony was believed to be an important experience of understanding ratios and the simultaneity of opposites.

Musical harmonies were based on proportion, and the design of Ancient Egyptian architecture was also based on proportion. Egyptians considered music as a type of geometry translated into sound, and that architectural proportion underlies all harmonies

Egyptians believed in the concept of the ‘infinity of sound’, and divided up the infinity of sound into three distinct categories. Musicians are aware of two forms of sound: regular vibrations (pitch) and random vibrations (noise). Tehuti was the first to recognize a third element – of muting, being the absence of sound. Muting is a common skill employed by professional musicians to contain the sound

Egyptian Harps were used mostly in religious rituals and ceremonies. Musical notes in ancient Egypt were regarded as spiritual elements, and were conceived as independent structural entities. The Egyptian ten string harp was played by priests and it was regarded as a sacred instrument.

Egyptians believed that letters and words were phonetic elements with each individual letter as a picture of its own sound. They believed that individual letters consisted of unique vibrational patterns

this same site had some info on Pythagoras, and stated that he studied in Kemet for 21-23 years.

  1. Pythagoras believed that everything in the universe was related to numbers and mathematics. He believed that all numbers had an important spiritual and holy significance and tht each one carried its own vibration. He saw music the same way that he viewed geometry and mathematics, as a holy, spiritual scientific endeavor, of which a perfect society could be created.
  2. He believed that music should be regarded as a holy science and should never be used for mere entertainment purposes. He recognized music as the unifying principle of Harmonia, which he regarded as a divine principle that brings order to chaos and discord, which is also a reconciliation of opposing principles. Harmonia was one of the main principles of design and creation used in Egyptian architecture.

Abu Simbel Temple Festival October 22

What is the Abu Simbel Sun Festival?

The Abu Simbel Sun Festival is a bi-annual event that takes place at the spectacular temple of Ramses II in the south of Egypt. On two days of the year the central chamber of the temple is illuminated by the sun. For a short period of time as the sun perfectly aligns with the usually shrouded interior, light is cast on the seated statues of Ramses II (pharaoh), Ra (sun god) and Amun (king of the gods). Only the statue of Ptah, the god of darkness, remains in the shadows. This event has been taking place for over 3,200 years.

Acutonics tuning forks are tuned to the planetary frequencies according to the Music of the Spheres by Pythagoras. (We all know that he studied in Ancient Kemet before coming up with his ideas and theories. ) The tuning forks are then placed directly on the body or in the energy field, thus removing blocks to the flow of energy. These blocks are the cause of all illness, pain or disease, so when the block is removed, the pain illness or disease are eliminated. for  ore information, viist kemetones.org
